Kenya June and July Update.....TIMES AND SEASONS
Hello brethren, I’m so glad to be able to share what’s been going on in Kenya over the last two months with you all and We’re calling this update times and seasons.
When we think of how God works in our lives as believers in Jesus Christ as our Savior we are told in Ecclesiastes chapter 3 that there are times and seasons for everything under the heaven. I would like to share that passage with you and it is Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
As I read this passage it reminds me how God has specific things in our lives as Christians that are fulfilled in different times and in different seasons.
For me this has been a time to reflect on what God has allowed since I’ve returned out here with our Good News from God ministry team and give thanks to God for the great things he has allowed our ministry team to do in this part of the world.
Not only have we been able to share the Gospel with refugees from Rwanda and the Congo out here and encourage and build them up in their Faith, but we have also been able to witness to the refugees from Somalia who are mostly Muslim and we have been able to see some of those people believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and that is such a blessing!!!
I am also so very grateful to those of you who made it possible through your support for our ministry for the trip to Pakistan at the end of January to the middle of February to take place!!! God bless all of you who helped make that trip possible and for those of you who were keeping me in your thoughts and prayers for safety and protection while I was there I’m very grateful for you as well!!!
I had the blessing and honor of praying with Muslims....witnessing to Muslims.....preaching to Muslims.....and watch a lot of Muslims become followers of Jesus Christ as their Savior “Not Just A Prophet” during that time and that makes me feel so good that God is using me and our ministry team to bring Muslims in Pakistan and Kenya to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Savior...... And I know Jesus isn’t done yet thank you God 🙏🙏🙏
As amazing as the Pakistan trip was and believe me it was AMAZING....what filled my heart with the most joy was when my friend Joseph here in Kenya sent me a message while I was in Pakistan telling me that he wants to be a follower of Jesus Christ and believe in Jesus Christ as his Savior 😀
I remember the day Joseph told me that and that night I was praying to God to make sure that I was able to get back to Kenya before the rapture of the Church so I could share the gospel message with him so he could believe in Jesus Christ as his Savior and receive forgiveness of sins.
That was the first time in my life that I asked the Lord to make sure that the Rapture of the Church didn’t happen until I could share the gospel with somebody that is a close friend of mine, and if He was planning to come back in that time period to give me a chance to share the gospel with this person before He does. Thankfully my prayers were answered 🙏🙏🙏
I’ll never forget Joe‘s first words to me after he believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior he went into his bedroom and came back out and looked at me and he said “So I’m gonna get to go to heaven with you now....RIGHT???”
It felt so good to smile at Joe and say...”Yes Joe you will be with me in heaven now”, and when I saw the smile on his face it was amazing!!!
During this trip to Kenya we have also been able to get our ministry team recognized by the Kenya government.
With Senga’s help with the paperwork Good News from God ministries international is a CBO “Community Based Organization”, And because of his help we believe this will open up more opportunities for our ministry as time goes on as we await the Lords return which is our Blessed Hope as it says in Titus 2:13-14
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Because of all of the amazing things that God has been allowing out here our ministry team has gotten excited about certain things that we would like to see happen in our ministry, but we also understand that there is so much to be grateful for right now and there is something I have to mention to you all and I hope that you will keep this in your prayers as well.
A very important member of our ministry team named Hannah has gotten to know me very well and for some odd reason she seems to like me....how crazy is that 😀
We have dated for a long time and as Argentina, Ali and Veronica know already I proposed to her and she excepted my proposal and I am so grateful to God for sending such a wonderful woman like Hannah into my life!!!
So there are a lot of exciting things going on out here in Kenya, and in this part of the world,
I have already been asked multiple times to return to Pakistan and with your prayers and support I’m hoping that not only will we be able to return to Pakistan with the ministry team next year, but we also be able to bring our ministry team out there so you all can meet all of us and see the great work that God is doing in all of our lives!!!
I also want to ask you to continue to pray for Senga‘s family as it has been a lot longer than we ever thought it would be before his family would depart for America. They are still in the refugee resettlement program, but obviously God is holding up their departure for reasons that only He knows, so we ask you to pray for Senga and his family and we are so grateful for the thoughts prayers and support you all have shown to our ministry so God bless you all.
Oh yeah if you would like to see the certificate that was issued by Kenya for Good News from God ministries I sent it to Ted Stephens and he should be able to show it to you.
And I also sent Ted Stephens a picture of Hannah and myself if you want to see a picture of us
BE BLESSED And We all hope you had a great Independence Day, and we hope you all have a great month!!!
Sincerely, Senga, Joe, Hannah and Ron Smith Jr. or “Little Ron” as some of you know me as 😎 Good News from God Ministries Intl.
